Alex Fisher, LMT

Experienced and Intuitive Massage Therapist

About Alex Fisher

I trained at the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in New York City, graduating in 1993. There I studied Swedish massage and shiatsu. Since then I have studied the Rosen Method, aromatherapy and pregnancy massage, among other modalities. While not a Rosen practitioner, I always bring the concept of listening hands to my work.

I tell clients that I am a professional, but you are the expert. You know internally what is going on, what you need, and what feels right. It's up to me to tailor each session to your needs. My most important tool is my ability to listen and to create a safe and caring space for your relaxation and healing.

I have been giving massages almost as long as I can remember. My mother was a ballet dancer and would pay me a penny to massage her back and a penny for her feet. It was years later that I had the aha! moment which led to my massage career.

I have clients who come to me for relaxation and stress relief; to aid in recovery from injury; to deepen their awareness of themselves; or to connect to feelings and memories held in the body. I feel my work can be a catalyst for the psyche; so that through massage therapy, greater awareness can be present. It is an honor to be a part of this process.

I have many years of supervised experience working with clients with PTSD and other trauma history. I have also worked with many trans and nonbinary folx in my practice, providing a safe and nonjudgmental setting for each client to become more present in their body.

I look forward to hearing from you and working with you!
